You Need a Pool Freeze Guard This Winter!

A pool freeze guard is, as you may expect, going to protect your pool from freezing.  That may be obvious, but today we’re looking at something more interesting than just what a pool freeze guard is; we’re looking at how they work digitally.

Heater Hook-up!

A freeze guard is an activation control (human-set) that runs in coordination with your pool’s heating system.  Once properly installed by a pool professional, it will activate the pool pump/heater on its own to prevent a water freeze.

Automatic

It’s up the user to select a proper temperature for their pool freeze guard to activate on.  If the freeze guard isn’t installed, isn’t installed properly, or not set on a suitable temperature, your pool could easily freeze over!  For example, if the freeze guard is set to 5 degrees, then your pool is going to freeze well before that temperature hits.
A frozen pool could be harmful to the overall well-being of itself.  More specifically, frozen water could damage your expensive and intricate pool equipment.  Though some products can be made as strongly as possible, freezing things that aren’t meant to be frozen could spell disaster!

32 Degrees

You should have your freeze guard on your equipment pad set to activate at the freezing temperature – that’s 32 degrees in Fahrenheit.
